Wagamama Restaurant Review

Me and Reece got invited to a joint birthday meal that our friends were having at Wagamama last week. (Again, I’ve forgotten to take pictures of the food so all the pictures below are from the internet).
Wagamama is known as a British-headquartered restaurant chain, serving pan-Asian food in the style of a modern Japanese ramen bar. In Japanese, their name means ‘naughty child’, or ‘one who is wilful and determined’. A good example of that determination is the art of ‘kaizen’, meaning ‘good change’. This philosophy sits right at their heart. It shapes every dish they create, and pushes them to find better ways in all that they do. Restless spirits. Forever creating and making things better.

As we got there, the theme of the restaurant was really simple and very lively. The waiters that were serving us were very polite and helpful.

For mains, I ordered ‘Pork Ramen’ which has ‘korean barbecued pork in a miso, ginger and chicken noodle broth. Topped with seasonal greens, wakame, menma and half a tea-stained egg’.

Reece ordered ‘Grilled Duck Ramen’ which has ‘tender, boneless duck leg splashed with citrus ponzu sauce in a vegetable noodle soup. Dressed with chilli, pea shoots and coriander’

Reece also ordered two side dishes which are: ‘Chili Squid’ which is ‘crispy fried squid dusted with shichimi. Served with a chilli coriander dipping sauce’ and ‘Duck Qyoza’ which are five tasty fried duck dumplings served with a dipping sauce.

For desert, I ordered something really simple which was ice cream covered in chocolate sauce (I don’t remember the name of the desert) and Reece ordered ‘Banana Katsu’ which is ‘banana in panko breadcrumbs with a scoop of salted caramel ice cream’.

For drinks, I had Coke Cola (as usual) and Reece got ‘Super Green Juice’ which has apple, mint, celery and lime. To me it taste like green starburst (If you’re from the United Kingdom, then you will know what the green starburst taste like).

The food was amazing, I really enjoyed eating my pork ramen because I could taste different flavours and the soup was very tasty. However, I prefer Reece’s meal because his soup tasted even better than mine. The desert were really nice as well, again I prefers Reece’s than mine because his tasted better. The sides were really good, they were fresh and crispy which I love. The dips that the two sides come along with really go well with the sides.

I recommend you guys to try this place because the food from here are amazing and I’m hoping to eat there soon because I can’t get enough of their ramen! It really affordable, especially when the food are cooked really well.

Speak to you guys soon.

Don Marco Restaurant Review

I’m quite annoyed that I have forgotten to take pictures of the foods but it is fine. I’ll just have to find similar pictures of the food online.

Last night, my boyfriend (Reece) took me out to town to have a meal with him. We were supposed to go to TGIF but it was fully booked so we had to go somewhere else. He found another restaurant but we would have to wait for 2 hours because it was fully booked as well. So he decided to take us to Don Marco instead.

Don Marco is known as an Italian restaurant in Manchester. The flagship restaurant recreate the atmosphere of neighbourhood brasseries found in other big cities such as Milan and New York, whilst the combination of traditional charm and contemporary materials creates an addictive buzz.

It took us a while to get to the restaurant because he has forgotten where it was but he manage to find it. Once we got to the restaurant, we were told we could only stay there for an hour because we didn’t book it beforehand. I usually take ages to eat especially when I go out so trying to eat within an hour was going to be difficult for me.

The scenery was just amazing, it actually felt like we were in Italy. Although it was quite crowed but it still looked really nice. I am really bad at explaining but they had this type of heater outside where it keeps you warm and you can adjust the volume of the heat. To be honest, I felt I was frying because I could feel heat everywhere but it was nice because outside was actually freezing as well as windy.

For starters, we had ‘Bruschetta Calabrese’ (£5.95) which is Spicy Calabrian sausage sprend, cherry tomatoes and salted ricotta.

For mains, Reece had ‘Agnello’ (£18.95) which was roasted rump of lamb, gnocchi, broad bean, pea and mint. I ordered ‘Margherita Pizza’ (£7.97) which is so plain of me. I should had gotten something else because I already tried that before.

For dessert, Reece order dessert, he got ‘Tiramisu’ (£4.95) which is a classic Italian dessert. I didn’t get any because I was full but I manage to have a bite of his.

For drinks, Reece got orange juice and I got lemonade (£2.50 each).

The ‘Bruschetta Calabrese’ (starter) was really nice. Although it was quite spicy for me, it is something that you would keep eating to taste all the flavours again. The ‘Margeherita Pizza’ (my main) is one of the best pizza I have ever tried out all of all the pizza’s I have eaten. Although, I knew what the taste was going to be and therefore I wasn’t really stunned about it. The ‘Agnello’ (Reece’s main) was amazing. The meat was well done, I could taste all different types of flavours and it was tender. I would had ordered the same meal as him if I could go back. The ‘Tiramisu’ (dessert) was really nice. It was sweet, smooth and tasted like chocolate and cream together which it was.

To conclude, I would recommend this restaurant as it has a nice atmosphere to it. It’s quite peaceful and calm. The food is really good, however I would recommend you guys to get out of your comfort zone and try something new because you can experience something amazing by just trying something else.

I hope you enjoy this review on Don Marco!
