Caribbean Carnival 2015

I attended to the Caribbean Carnival in Manchester at Moss Side, Alexander Park on the 8th August 2015. The Caribbean Carnival is basically a celebration of dance, music, costumes and cultures around the street of Manchester.

Around 1:00pm, there was a parade around the streets of Moss Side. Sadly I wasn’t able to attend to the parade in time. However I have manage to go to the carnival at Alexander Park.

The carnival was huge and had different types of music, rides, and food/drinks stalls. There were around about 5-6 stages where they play different types of music that people went to listen or dance.

There were also stalls that sell ranges of things such as food, drinks, souvenirs and more, so people were able to eat and drink while enjoying their time at the carnival.

There was one section where they had all the rides for people to go on. The prices of these rides were around £2 to £3 each, so people were able to afford to go on the rides.

The carnival ended around 8:00pm, so people started to leave the park and head home.

This was my first time attending to the carnival and I enjoyed it quite well. Hopefully, I will be attending next year.

Here are a few tips if you want to attend to any carnivals in the future:
  • Don't bring anything valuable - as you are attending to a big event, there is a possible chance that you may lose your personal possession or get it stolen.
  • Have money with you - have some money so you can buy food and drinks because you can get quite hungey or thirthy there.
  • Take a small bag with you - you don't have to bring a bag but it will be helpful because you can put your money, phone, camera and other things that is necessary for you in there. Also you won't lose anything as it will be in your bag.
  • Wear something reasonable for the weather - there is a possible chance that the weather will be warm so try to wear thin clothing because you are going to be roasting.
  • Bring/wear sun cream protection - you are likely to urn and get a tan at the carnival. Also you don't wat your skin to age quickly so this is a must!
  • Have fun - Remeber to have fun, forget what people think and enjoy yourself. Take loads of pictures and videos so you can loo back to them in the future!
Hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Salt 'n' Pepper Restarurant Review

This post isn’t about make-up or fashion related but it’s a review of a restaurant that I went to a couple days ago.

So my friend was having a birthday meal in Manchester at “Salt ‘n’ Pepper”. Salt ‘n’ Pepper is known as a restaurant that offers different traditional Indian cuisine. They are known as one of Manchester’s most popular venues and have been serving authentic Indian Punjabi dishes to Mexican dishes.

When I got to the restaurant, I had to wait for other people to come along because they were running late due to the traffic. As soon as everyone got there, we all sat down and looked at the menu. It took a while for the waiter to serve us because some of us didn’t know what to order.

The waiter finally took our order and we waited quite a while to get out drinks. It took roughly 15 minutes or possibly more. Another 15 to 20 minutes of waiting, our food has finally arrived.
From what I had order, I had Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers. From their menu it says “Tossed in our honey-chipotle sauce. Served with corn on the cob, home-style fries and ranch dressing”. I also order Pepsi as well. The Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers cost £11.99 and the Pepsi cost £2.75.

The food was presented very nicely. There were five pieces of chicken with chips and a sauce which I didn’t even know what it was. The food was quite spicy. I can’t handle spice so I may find the spicy but for other people they may not find it spicy. I had to order another Pepsi because I couldn’t handle the spice.

To conclude, I was quite disappointed on the service and the food because they took a long time getting the food ready and the food was quite spicy which I ended up wasting a chicken and a couple of chips. I was supposed to pay £14.74 but ended up paying £17.49 because I bought another drink.

If you like spicy food or like Indian cuisine, then I recommend going to this place. However, if you are picky and can’t or don’t like spice then I do not recommend you to go to Salt ‘n’ Pepper.

See you guys soon!
