Update On Everything

It has been a while since I have posted a blog but I am going to try to continue posting at least once a month if I am not too distracted. Here is an update on everything that has happened!

I got an unconditional offer from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). The course that I will be studying is Business Management (Placement). I will be doing a work placement during the second year and third year. In total I will be doing 4 years instead of 3 but I don’t mind because I will be able to gain experience and skills from the work place.

The grade requirement that I needed to get in order to do Business Management is: “DMM” and “C in GCSE Maths and GCSE English”. I passed both of my GCSE Maths and GCSE English in the first year of college which I didn’t expect especially with the short amount of time I had to study. I got a “D*DD” in my BTEC Level Three Extended Diploma Business (Law) course that I did at college which is twice the grade that I needed to get to do the Business Management course at University.

I also got an unconditional offer from Salford University but Manchester Metropolitan University is my firm choice.

I will be living in student accommodation for the first year. I will be living near the university which will only take 10 minutes to walk to. I had many different options to live in and I was going to live in an en-suite accommodation but due to the time I started applying for it, all the accommodation that had en-suite were all taken.

Now I will be sharing the bathroom with another roommate and will be sharing the kitchen and living room with 11 people. It may seem really bad but this is the best option there is because the other accommodation that I had research was that you had to share the bathroom with 9 people as well with the kitchen and living room. I can’t share the bathroom with 9 people, especially when we would be waiting to use it.

I am not afraid to live independently because I already been experiencing living independently since January. The reason why I want to live in student accommodation is because to meet new people and boost my confidence. As well, I love having the freedom of doing whatever I want and don’t have to be under house rules.

Where I am today, isn’t that easy to get to, I had to put a lot of commitment into it such as completing my assignments every day, spending all my lunch time in the library, completing assignment overnight, not going out as often, not catching up with friends. There were a few bumps that impacted me during the two years of college that could have affected but I didn’t let them. Now looking back at the two years, I am glad that I studied so hard to complete all my assignments and spent less time going out. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the few people who still kept me motivated and putting the commitment into me to help me do well. Thank you to the people who were with me during the two years.

If you have any goals that you want to achieve, then you need to put all the work into it. Only you can make it happen, you just need to stay motivated and believe in yourself. You will meet people who may not see the goals that you want to achieve and don't let them stop you. Prove to them that you can achieve anything and don't need them to put you off. Don't let anyone stop you from achieving anything.

Speak to you soon.
